The Baby’s Birthday Bash

The Baby’s Birthday Bash

Okay, this little guy is our third so… confession… the first birthday was no big thing. I’m not one of those people…anymore…who plans kid parties to a T. I try to have some activities to keep people busy. But I’ve learned kids usually just want to play. We celebrated with burgers, balloons, friends and family. I bought a cake and cupcakes from our new little cupcakery downtown. Sooo good! The big kids played outside and he watched. The adults talked and laughed and he listened. I made a few things to eat and Jos flipped burgers. Then, we went inside for gifts. Another tip, which I did not abide by this time due to the baby’s nap schedule: Try to avoid feeding guests a meal at kid parties. It really helps simplify things. Another confession… Somehow I managed to have a mini mental breakdown about one hour before the party. It passed and we all had a ball. I can honestly say “my little one year-old” (as McG calls him) had a blast! Anyone have any more kid birthday party tips? I really do try to simplify kid birthdays but I continually make them complicated in some form or another....
